Being Melbourne’s closest alpine resort, after a two hour drive you can be in another world.

Spring is a very gorgeous time to visit Lake Mountain, as all of the wildlife is out and ready to play, the vegetation is blooming, spot unique wildflowers and Australia’s wildlife in their natural habitat. What better way to capture all of this than to take a walk on one of the resorts many marked walking trails. One of the most rewarding being the Summit Walk, only a 30-40 minute walk from the main village area, provides a great reward at the end of the trail with an outstanding view over the magical mountain of Marysville, onward over the Yarra Valley, and on a clear blue skied day, the sky scrapers of Melbourne CBD.
After your adventurous day, why not treat yourself to a glass of local wine out on the balcony of the resorts impressive new restaurant facility. Of course with impressive views, reaching over the mountains towards Toolangi. The trails are open for mountain biking, check out the stunning wildflowers, THULE pack a picnic and wander along the extensive network of walking trails or enjoy a glass of wine and a meal in the Heights bar and bistro.

Summer Launch

Lake Mountain will soon become an all year round destination, part of which introducing a new summer program to 2011-2012. A launch of these products is set to coincide with the official opening of the new visitor day centre on the 20th of November. Held as a Family Fun Day, come along to trial the new products and enjoy a carnival like atmosphere with your family and friends.

Lake Mountain Sprint

Held on over the 26th and 27th of November is the annual Lake Mountain Sprint. A tarmac car rally made up of timed runs between the Lake Mountain ticket box and the main village car park. Viewing points located at Kelly’s Paddock, Arnold Gap and Snowy Hill offer spectators the opportunity to see the drivers in action.

Market Month

Introducing to 2011, Market Month! A unique arrangement of local arts and craft stalls, retails and gift ware and of course the regions famous food, wine and local produce.
Over the first three weekends of December Marysville and Lake Mountain will host a cluster of markets with a difference. With a number of locations, beginning in Marysville stopping at Cascades, Arnold Gap, Snowy Hill and finally the top of the Mountain. Each stop will display its own theme, a great way to begin your shopping for Christmas. With local business owners trading their sturdy shop walls in for a marquee over these selected weekends to provide shoppers with fabulous products.

Granite Grind
The annual Granite Grind is once again on in 2012, February the 25th. If you enjoy mountain bike riding whether it be your choice of keeping fit, you enjoy a casual ride or you are in it to win it, come along and take part of the Lake Mountain Grind. An event always enjoyed by all who take part.
Based on a 10km single track loop with one or two or three lap options, this race can provide each rider with a variety of terrain, and their chosen level of competition.
As always, great prizes up for grabs, event pack with goodies provided for each competitor.

Music Festival

The inaugural Lake Mountain Music Festival was held in 2011. A day of festivals, live music and plenty of entertainment for the entire family. This year run over four spectacular days, this event will provide those attending with a great taste of the Marysville Triangle area, with live music and entertainment in different locations within the Triangle, each within close distance from the other. An excellent opportunity to discover local food, wine and produce, at the same time as travelling from one fantastic venue to the other. Make sure you set these dates aside for you and your family.  Beginning Friday 9th March – Monday 12th March.

School Holiday Program
Need some new places to get the kids out of the house during the school holidays?
Lake Mountain, an all year round adventure playground, has a great new variety of activities for you and your family during the January school holidays. With live music, jumping castles, face painting, and many activities run to keep the kids entertained this is the place for you and the family over the school holidays. All activities at no charge to you and the family are designed to give you and your family a break from the inside computer games and movie days, and get outside to experience a combination of sunshine, exercise, environment and laughter. Make sure you are a part of this great new program in 2012.
